Hi, I’m Toronto
photographer
Nick Wons.

Over 15 years ago, I left my day job to take a passion, a side hustle, and a dream, and turn them into an incredible career. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working with major brands and organizations, capturing images that define their legacy. I have been entrusted to document high-profile government and NGO events, have helped to create award-winning marketing campaigns, and have served as an official photographer for the Toronto International Film Festival for 7 years and counting.

Art From The Start.

I have had a creative inclination for as long as I can remember. Growing up with a neighbour who was a pro photographer, and developing a fond interest in documenting Toronto graffiti in the 1990s, I was constantly surrounded by art.

However, it was through the rave scene that photography became a dominant influence in my life. I didn’t just attend events; I performed, hosted a Saturday night FM radio show in Toronto, and planned electronic music events of my own. It was in that time that I picked up a camera again and rekindled my love for the art of documentation. My Nikon and I became inseparable.

Chasing The Shot.

I became obsessed with street photography in Toronto. Spending countless days and nights roaming the city to chase the elusive “perfect shot” became a game for me. I began posting my best work to Instagram and became something of a local celebrity, amassing a dedicated following and viral posts that earned international recognition. This led to opportunities with Tourism Toronto and the City of Toronto, capturing images used to market the city to the world.

That background, combined with my love for the street, helped me find my unique voice—transitioning from late-night club photography to a full-time career capturing authentic stories for major brands, both local and international.

Professional Experience & Trusted Clients.

Over the last decade and a half, I’ve moved from shooting club events to working with prestigious clients like TIFF, NATO Canada, Indigo Chapters, and Oxford Properties. Today, my work is published globally in print and online, and I have permanent commissioned pieces installed in buildings across Toronto. I am a proud member of the International Federation of Journalists and a contributing partner with SOPA Images.

I know I’m doing what I love, because whether I’m photographing a construction project, a corporate conference, a portrait, or just walking the streets with my camera, I love photography as much as the first time I looked through a viewfinder.

Have a project in mind? Contact me today and let’s create something amazing.
