Capturing world-class classical musicians on a landmark stage requires intense acoustic awareness and precise timing. Specifically, on February 6, 2020, I was commissioned to photograph world-renowned violinist Joshua Bell performing live alongside the National Arts Centre Orchestra (NACO) and conductor Alexander Shelley at Roy Thomson Hall in Toronto, presented in collaboration with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.
Photographing a virtuoso of Bell’s caliber demands absolute discretion during quiet passages and split-second shutter synchronization during orchestral crescendos.
