Directors Guild of Canada | Creative Dynamic 3 Event Photography

For the past 2 years now I have been the official photographer for the Director’s Guild of Canada and often people ask what exactly it is I do for the Guild, well, this is what I do…

Every month or so DGC hosts a variety of panels with it’s Toronto members where they screen films, have Q&A sessions with the producers, directors, and sound composers of Canadian film & television shows and movies. Working with DGC has really opened my eyes to the world of Canadian film & television and has also inspired me to look into maybe one day getting into that industry (as a Director of Photography perhaps) after meeting soo many cool and creative people who share a passion for visual arts, it feels like a place I totally fit in.

The following photos are from the latest Creative Dynamic event held at TIFF Bell Lightbox in downtown Toronto:

“The creative collaboration that takes place after the cameras stop rolling is equally important to the success of the finished work. The Creative Dynamic III brought together top Directors, Screen Composers and Picture & Sound Editors to discuss, explore and foster this creative dynamic. (Hosted by Director Michael Kennedy)

The day ended with multi-DGC award winning and Emmy nominated Director Jeremy Podeswa sharing his experiences working on some of TV’s biggest shows, Six Feet Under, The Pacific, True Blood, The Newsroom, Boardwalk Empire. (Hosted by Director Bruce McDonald )

About

I’m a Toronto-based freelance photographer with over 15 years of experience in the industry. My work is focused on high-end corporate, commercial, and architectural photography. Even when I'm off the clock, my eye is drawn to the urban environment where I shoot a lot of cityscapes and street photography that capture everyday life of the city.
