VICE 20th Anniversary Party | Hearn Power Plant Toronto
This year Vice turned 20, and in true Vice fashion they went all out by hosting a party in Toronto’s abandoned Hearn Power Plant, featuring A-Trak, Action Bronson, and special guest, Skrillex. I was one of the lucky few who was in attendance as I was covering the event as my first assignment for Narcity.
Some of you might recall I attended the YSL Luminato opening night gala earlier this year held at the same venue and at the time the first event of it’s kind held in that amazing post soviet era industrial settings, well, Vice wasn’t going to be outdone. They brought in a fully functional Ferris wheel open for all to ride, food trucks, Rogers branded chill out zone, great lighting, awesome sound, killer acts booked, and even the people in attendance there all made it quite the experience and a night to remember on a whole different level from my previous adventure there.

Perks of the job, meeting cool guys like Action Bronson! Photo by Zach Slootsky (VICE)
I wanted to have these photos posted sooner however I wanted them to be added to this new website as opposed to the old one, so I had to wait. Here are just a few of the photos I managed to capture that night, the whole set can be seen here on Narcity’s page
And as I was taking a break from shooting the shows I creeped back behind the stage to find this awesome shot waiting to be captured.

Naturally, I’ve now got the urge to go hit up some abandoned sites and do some urbex, maybe revisit that POW camp, Camp 30.
