Inside St. Lawrence Market North | Toronto Event Photographer

Late last year I spent some time photographing the exterior of the newly constructed St. Lawrence Market North building as a part of my personal project of photographing the ever-changing city of Toronto. After sharing those architectural shots online, the venue team reached out and invited me to come and work my event photography magic and document their exclusive first industry open house this past spring.

The St. Lawrence Market North building is Toronto’s newest blank-canvas, large-scale venue downtown. . This open house was a chance for the city’s top event planners and designers to see exactly how this massive, modern structure translates into a fully realized event space.

The design team completely transformed the room with rentals from Element Event Solutions. To complement the venue’s high ceilings and natural light, they brought in giant green and white suspended balloons and sweeping garlands of greenery that mirrored the scale of the architecture.

The hospitality was just as impressive as the decor. The venue and vendor teams put together an incredible networking and sampling experience, featuring a massive artisanal cheese spread by The Food Dudes sourced from Chris’ Cheesemongers, live culinary stations by Alo Catering, EatErtainment, Elle Cuisine, and McEwen Catering, beautiful passed appetizers, and a fully stocked craft cocktail bar. Between the great food, the lively atmosphere, and entertainment, like a live portrait artist and live painting artist Elicser, it was the perfect way to showcase the venue’s potential for both large-scale corporate events and galas to high-end weddings and charity events.
